We are looking for Black faith community members, attending a faith group in the South London boroughs of SOUTHWARK and LAMBETH, to take part in the project. This will involve the following:
- Attending an ONLINE 8 week course which is designed to help you to feel more confident in identifying and knowing how to help members of your congregation who may be experiencing mental health difficulties.
- It will also give you the opportunity to become a Mental Health Champion for your faith community, or become a Faith Consultant (Advisor) to mental health professionals in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust or learn to co-facilitate new courses.
- Following the course you will be invited to take part in a focus group which will explore your perspectives of the course. It is hoped that this work will help us to ensure that we provide a more sensitive community mental health service provision.
